How do they relate?

Myths, simply put, guide mankind towards the Higher Consciousness that
many call God.  They often define mankind's purpose and place in the universe.  They also metaphorically depict the process of differentiation
on a cultural level.  That is, they depipct the process by which a
culture becomes self aware and distinct.

Dreams essentially represent the myth of an incividual.  They help us define ourselves and guide our psychological development.  Sometimes dreams can help us solve personal problems or answer questions.  They often answer a question with another question as we struggle to understand the imagery.  This process can be made easier when we use the imagery in myths to guide us.
